Overview
Dr R. Chattopadhyay graduated from the University of Calcutta in Textile Technology and thereafter obtained his Master’s and Ph. D degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He is working as an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Textile & Fibre Engineering, IIT Delhi. He had been HOD, Textile and Fibre Engineering (2012-14) IIT Delhi, Professor In-charge (Planning), Chairman of IIT JEE (2007-2009), and Professor In-charge of Quality improvement programme. Involved in teaching & research ( 36 years), consulting, organising seminars & tailor-made courses for industry and academia. He has guided 14 doctoral and 72 Master theses, published 150 research papers (Journals and conferences), and written 4 book chapters. His research and consulting projects have been funded by the Govt. and private sector industries.
